Sportbild reports that Bayern Munich midfielder Georgia Stanway could leave the club on a free transfer next summer. Stanway left Manchester City in 2022 to join the German club and quickly established herself as a regular starter. A year later, the England international signed a new deal with Bayern running until the summer of 2026.

At the time of signing, the 26-year-old said: “It feels like home here for me, which is very important. This is the best place for me, and I see my future here. The chance to extend at Bayern, and the fact the club also wants to, is a great honour.”

What’s ahead in the 2025/26 season for Bayern Munich?

Georgia Stanway and her side recently faced Arsenal in the Women’s Champions League. The German club conceded two goals in the first half but managed to fight back for a 3–2 win. It was the club’s second win in the league phase, leaving them with six points in sixth place.

Stanway after the match:

“It always happens to us in the first half when we play here. The more that we play here, the more comfortable we’ll get in this environment. It’s a little bit abnormal, and sometimes we get a bit overexcited, feeling the emotions. But as soon as we went in at half-time, we were able to talk about it, find solutions, look at pictures. The second half was a completely different game.

“The reality is we want people to come back. The nerves are on in order to create a good environment, a good game, to keep fans here and provide this stadium for us as much as possible.”
