The Football Ferns had to go home while Colombia, France and Canada went to the next round. Canada managed this despite the six-point deduction. Colombia faced World Champions Spain on the 3rd of August at 17:00 CEST. Colombia took the lead against Spain for a long time, but after the 0-2 Spain woke up. They scored the equalizer just in time. This took the match to extra time and eventually penalties, which Spain won. Usme and Salazar did not score their penalties. Colombia is out of the Olympics 2024.

The World Cup 2023 ended for Colombia when England beat them 2-1. Since then they made their way to the Gold Cup Semi-Finals, but the USA won 3-0. It’s time to shine for Colombia. They sure have a quality squad to do so.
