The Olympic France Squad 2024 is experiencing the Paris 2024 Olympics women’s football on home soil. They got off to a great start with their win over Colombia. The next opponent Canada was too strong for France after they secured a late winning goal. In the last round, New Zealand was next. France won with a disappointing 1-2. In the quarter-finals, Brazil awaits the team. The Olympic France Squad 2024 took on Brazil on Saturday the 3rd and lost with 0-1. Portilho scored the one and only goal, kicking France out of the tournament.

The Olympics women’s football started on Thursday the 25^th of July with matches across all the groups. France is in group A with Canada, New Zealand and Colombia. Three strong opponents, especially Colombia and the current Olympic Champion Canada.

Olympic France Squad 2024

The following players are selected by Hervé Renard, the head coach of the French women’s football team. Renard announced that the Olympics is his last tournament with the women’s team. Renard, like all the other head coaches, had to make some tough calls. Majri is absent again. She is a forward and Renard already took six with him. The other absentee is Clara Mateo. After a brilliant season in the D1 Arkéma, she still missed the list. This is the Olympic France Squad 2024:

Goalkeepers: Peyraud-Magnin, Picaud.

Defenders: Bacha, E. Cascarino, De Almeida, Karchaoui, Lakrar, Mbock, W. Renard.

Midfielders: Baltimore, Dali, Geyoro, Henry, Toletti.

Forwards: D. Cascarino, Diani, Katoto, Le Sommer.

Alternates: Durand, Perisset, Le Garrec,Becho.

18-player squads are quite small, so the managers have trouble with picking their best. Head coaches are allowed to appoint four alternates who travel with the group to Paris.

Schedule before the tournament

The FIFA international window was between the 8^th and 16^th of July. On the 12^th and 16^th France had matches against Sweden and Ireland for the EURO 2025 Qualifiers. The match against Sweden was won with 2-1. A good start during the preparations.

The Republic of Ireland took France by surprise and won the match with 3-1. A great victory for the ROI, but France seemed troubled after. Hopefully, they do not take this with them to Paris. France already qualified for the EURO 2025. Today their Paris 2024 Olympics women’s football adventure starts.

The team is in Group A with Canada, Colombia and New Zealand. They will play matches on the following dates:

• Sunday the 28^th of July 21:00 France vs Canada – Result: 1-2
• Wednesday the 31^st of July 21:00 New Zealand vs France – Result: 1-2
