Germany won the Bronze Medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The tournament started out with a big win for the Olympic Germany Squad 2024. Germany faced The Matildas on match day 1 and beat the number four of the World Cup with 3-0. After that the match against the USA did not go as planned, but after a win over Zambia they qualified anyway. In the next round Germany faced the USA and lost. Leaving only the Bronze Medal Match against Spain. The World Champion did not go down easily but Germany managed to win 0-1.
The Olympics women’s football started on Thursday the 25th of July with matches across all the groups. Germany faced Australia, the USA and Zambia in group B. A tough group with the four-time Olympic Gold medalist USWNT. But the Olympic Germany Squad 2024 made it to the semi-finals.

Update 06-08-24: Big disappointment for Horst Hrubesch: Popp and SchĂĽller are out for the semi-final against the USA. The two players did get back to the team for the Bronze Medal Match against Spain.
The following players are selected by Horst Hrubesch, the head coach of the German women’s football team. Germany qualified during the Women’s Nations League after they beat the Netherlands and took third place. No surprises in the Olympic Germany Squad:
Goalkeepers: Merle Frohms, Ann-Katrin Berger.
Defenders: Marina Hegering, Sarai Linder, Giulia Gwinn, Bibiane Schulze Solano, Sara Doorsoun, Kathrin Hendrich.
Midfielders: Sjoeke NĂĽsken, Elisa Senss, Sydney Lohmann, Laura Freigang.
Forwards: Alexandra Popp, Lea SchĂĽller, Klara BĂĽhl, Jule Brand, Vivien Endemann.
Alexandra Popp led the Olympic Germany Squad. Group B was very tough with the USA, Australia and Zambia. All three opponents are incredibly strong. This made the Paris 2024 Olympics something to really look forward to.
Schedule before the tournament
The FIFA international window was between the 8th and 16th of July. Germany participated in the EURO 2025 Qualifiers. The Olympic Germany Squad 2024 had to face Iceland on the 12th and Austria on the 16th. Two great games to warm up for the Olympics. Iceland managed to beat Germany 3-0 and qualify for the EURO 2025. Germany did beat Austria 4-0 and also qualified.
