The NWSL offseason is heating up as clubs across the league make major moves to reshape their rosters for the coming years. From blockbuster signings and key contract extensions to expansion sides preparing for their debut seasons, teams are wasting no time locking in talent. Here’s a look at the latest NWSL Transfers, deals, and arrivals from around the league.
Hailie Mace Signs for Orlando Pride
Orlando Pride have signed Hailie Mace on a deal through the 2028 NWSL season. The defender spent the last five years with KC Current, making 95 appearances for the club. Mace scored five goals and provided 11 assists, tying her for the KC Current club record.
“We are thrilled to have Hailie join our squad and contribute to this team both on and off the field,” Orlando Pride head coach Seb Hines said.
Utah Royals Add Two New Players to the Squad
Utah Royals have signed Miyabi Moriya and Madison Hammond ahead of the 2026 NWSL season. Moriya, a defender who just finished her first year in the league with Angel City, has signed a one-year deal with the Royals. Before joining Angel City, Moriya played for INAC Kobe Leonessa, scoring eight goals in 118 matches for the Japanese club.
Madison Hammond has signed a two-year contract with the Royals, keeping her at the club through 2027. The midfielder also spent last season with Angel City, having joined the club in 2022. Hammond is a versatile presence who remains composed under pressure and can step into the backline when needed, making her a valuable addition for the Royals.
Chicago Stars Secure Forward and Midfielder
The club has announced the signings of Ryan Gareis and Brianna Pinto. Gareis spent the past four years with the Houston Dash and has now signed a contract running through 2028 with the Chicago Stars. In the 2025 season, Gareis played 19 regular-season matches and registered three assists.
“I am so excited to join the Chicago Stars,” said Gareis. “Representing my hometown means everything, and I’m ready to give my everything to this team, this club, and this community.”
Midfielder Brianna Pinto has secured a deal through the 2027 NWSL season. Over four seasons with the North Carolina Courage, Pinto made 89 appearances (45 starts), scored 11 goals, recorded four assists, and helped the team reach two NWSL playoffs and win consecutive Challenge Cup titles.
“I am thrilled to begin a new chapter of my career with Chicago Stars FC,” said Pinto. “Chicago is a city that celebrates sports and culture, and I’m honored to be part of a club with such proud roots. Denver Summit Sign Two-Time NWSL Champion
Denver Summit have signed Abby Smith ahead of their inaugural NWSL season in 2026. The 32-year-old goalkeeper brings extensive experience, having played for the Boston Breakers, Utah Royals, Kansas City Current, Portland Thorns FC, Gotham FC, and Houston Dash, as well as Western Sydney Wanderers in Australia.
Smith has made more than 75 career appearances, keeping 14 clean sheets. She has signed a multi-year contract through the 2027 season, with a mutual option for 2028.
NWSL Transfers: New Contracts
- Nealy Martin has signed a new deal with Angel City through the 2027 season.
- Riley Jackson has agreed to a contract extension through the 2028 NWSL regular season with the NC Courage, while teammate Dani Weatherholt has signed a one-year extension.
- Goalkeeper Jordyn Bloomer has agreed to a new three-year contract with Racing Louisville, keeping her at the club through 2028.
- Defender Katie Scott has signed a new deal with KC Current, keeping her at the club through 2027.
