Signe Gaupset will join Tottenham Hotspur on Januari 1, 2026. The 20-year-old attacking midfielder joins from SK Brann, signing a long-term contract with the Spurs. The Norwegian international already knows the head coach at the club, Martin Ho, as he previously managed SK Brann before making the move to the Women’s Super League.

Gaupset joined SK Brann in 2021 when it was still named IL Sandviken. In her debut season, she played ten games and scored on her debut. But that was only the beginning. In the 2022 season, she made her breakthrough as she won the Norwegian Cup with the club. Her efforts on the pitch did not go unnoticed, and she earned more and more time on the field.

The midfielder played a vital role in the 2023 Women’s Champions League campaign for SK Brann, scoring the late equalizer against OL Lyonnes, helping SK Brann reach the knockouts for the first time. Gaupset leaves Norway with her best season statistics so far, scoring 15 goals and contributing another 12 assists in 26 appearances.

On the international stage, Gaupset made her debut in Feburary 2024 and traveled to the Women’s EURO 2025 with Norway. She scored twice against Iceland in the tournament and was a contender for the Golden Girl Trophy.

Words from Signe Gaupset

“When I have spoken to people at the Club, the project and everything around it, it just seems really good. This is a good place for me to be a better footballer, to develop more and be as good as possible.

“I know Martin [Ho] as a coach and I know what to expect. We worked really well together. He demands a lot, but I like that, I think he can get even more out of me.”

What the head coach had to say

“We’re thrilled to welcome Signe to Tottenham Hotspur and to bring a player of her calibre into our environment. She is a terrific person before anything else, and an exceptional footballer whose professionalism, ambition and personality will strengthen our squad.

“Signe offers genuine invention in possession, explosiveness in duels and a top-level ability to shift momentum in 1v1 moments. She has the intelligence to connect the game, the athleticism to drive forward with purpose, and the mentality to influence the standards around her. These are qualities that align fully with the identity we’re building and the demands of our style.

“A player with her potential naturally attracts attention, so we’re incredibly proud she chose our project and believes in the direction this team is going. We’re excited for everything she will bring to Tottenham Hotspur Women.”
