Sarah Zadrazil, Pernille Harder, and Magdalena Eriksson have all extended their contracts with FC Bayern Munich ahead of the January transfer window. Zadrazil signed a new deal until June 2027, while Harder and Eriksson have committed until June 2028.
Zadrazil is a 32-year-old Austrian international who signed for Bayern Munich five years ago. Since then, she has won four Bundesliga titles, the DFB Cup, and two Supercups. Harder and Eriksson arrived in 2023 but have quickly developed into crucial players for the team. Safe to say, these are three statement extensions by Bayern Munich.
What it means for the club
Sarah Zadrazil joined Bayern Munich from Potsdam in 2020. She established herself in midfield and has made 160 appearances for the club so far, scoring six goals. She is currently sidelined with an ACL injury and is working hard on her return. Zadrazil is also a key part of the Austrian national team, where she made her debut in 2010 and has earned 128 caps to date.
Both Harder and Eriksson moved from Chelsea to Bayern Munich for the 2023/24 season. While Harder has become a leading figure in the frontline, Eriksson has added a wealth of experience to the backline. Both have made over 50 appearances for the club, with Harder scoring more than 50 goals as well.
Words from Harder, Eriksson and Zadrazil
Pernille Harder: “The decision to stay here was quite easy for me. We’ve made great progress over the last two and a half years and our potential is far from exhausted, which is why I’m looking forward with anticipation to what’s ahead. FC Bayern means a great deal to me. From the start I’ve felt like part of a big family, which I want to continue to being part of. I value my teammates, the dedicated team behind the scenes and the loyal fans who support us in every situation. My ambition is to keep winning the Bundesliga and the cup, and get closer to winning the Champions League with Bayern.”
Magdalena Eriksson: “I’m very happy, pleased and looking forward to everything to come. Munich has become a home away from home for me, with a strong feeling of family and being welcome, carried by the team, the city and our magnificent fans. Their support is endless, no matter the place or result. My goal for the future is to achieve everything with this team, both in Germany and in Europe. I’ll give my best every day to do that.”
Sarah Zadrazil: “This new contract means a great deal of appreciation and huge support for me. It allows me to focus fully on my recovery, and I’ll do all I can to be back on the pitch as soon as possible. Bayern has become a second home for me. Especially now after my injury, I’ve got lots of goals with the club that I still want to achieve. I really appreciate that Bayern have put their trust in me. I’m really looking forward to being back on the pitch again with the team and hope I can do my role just as well as before. This team is special and what I miss the most right now. It means I’m even more looking forward to being part of this team on the pitch again soon.”
