Soccerdonna reports that Benfica full-back Lúcia Alves is attracting interest from several National Women’s Soccer League clubs, including San Diego Wave, Chicago Stars, and Boston Legacy. Alves renewed her contract with Benfica in 2024 for two additional seasons, meaning the defender is under contract until 2026.

Alves first joined Benfica in 2019 and has remained with the club ever since, aside from a short loan spell at Valadares Gaia. During her time in Lisbon, she has made over 150 appearances for the club. Upon signing her most recent contract extension, Lúcia Alves said: “When I arrived here, I came with many goals and dreams. I have already managed to accomplish some, but I hope to continue accomplishing many others with this symbol on my chest.

“I give everything for this shirt. Every time I go out on the pitch, I try to show the fans that this is my club, that it makes me feel happy and complete, so if I can help, I’ll be here”, added the full-back.”

One of the biggest transfer rumours currently circulating involves Hanna Lundkvist, who could be set for a move to the Women’s Super League. San Diego Wave recently announced the departure of the Swedish international, and she has since been linked with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Lundkvist made her debut for the Swedish national team in 2023 in a friendly against China. She has since earned over 17 caps and helped Sweden qualify for UEFA Women’s EURO 2025.

According to multiple reports, Lundkvist is close to signing for Manchester United. Marc Skinner’s side remains active across the Women’s Champions League, Women’s League Cup, and Women’s Super League, and reinforcements could prove crucial. Bayern Munich forward Lea Schüller has also been linked with the club, suggesting the January window could provide a significant boost to United’s squad.
