Iceland is one of the countries going to the EURO 2025 in Switzerland this summer. They qualified with a direct ticket. Head coach Thorsteinn Halldórsson selected the following 23-player squad for the Iceland National Team:
- Goalkeepers: Telma Ívarsdóttir, Fanney Inga Birkisdóttir, Cecilía Rán Rúnarsdóttir.
- Defenders: Guðný Árnadóttir, Ingibjörg Sigurðardóttir, Glódís Perla Viggósdóttir, Guðrún Arnardóttir, Natasha Moraa Anasi, Sædís Rún Heiðarsdóttir, Berglind Rós Ágústsdóttir.
- Midfielders: Alexandra Jóhannsdóttir, Andrea Rán Hauksdóttir, Katla Tryggvadóttir, Dagný Brynjarsdóttir, Amanda Jacobsen Andradóttir*, Sandra María Jessen.
- Forwards: Karólína Lea Vilhjálmsdóttir, Hafrún Rakel Halldórsdóttir, Sveindís Jane Jónsdóttir, Hlín Eiríksdóttir, Emilía Kiær Ásgeirsdóttir, Diljá Ýr Zomers*, Bryndís Arna Níelsdóttir.
*After the squad was announced a couple players were replaced due to injury. Diljá Ýr Zomers is replaced by Áslaug Munda Gunnlaugsdóttir and Amanda Jacobsen Andradóttir by Ásdís Karen Halldórsdóttir.
Schedule Iceland National Team
Iceland is in Group A2 with France, Norway and Switzerland. During this international window they will face Switzerland and France. The teams met up this week to get a couple trainings session in before starting their first 2025 international matches.
- Fri 21st of Feb – Switzerland vs Iceland 19:00 CET Stadion Letzigrund.
- Wed 25th of Feb – France vs Iceland 21:10 CET MM Arena.
Where to watch the Women’s Nations League?
This will be different for all the group stage matches. Possible channels to watch the match against Switzerland: SRF Zwei, RTS, Blue Sport, SRF Play. Watching from Iceland, Stöð 2 Sport might be an option.
