What the coach has to say:
Fabrice Gautrat after their first home win of the season: “It always feels good to get your first win. Especially at home, very positive. I think defensively we were very compact; we made it very hard to play through. We caught them in transition quite a few times.
“I do think with the chances we created in the first half, we had a couple moments where we had two or three clear cut one-on-ones, and we need to do better at. But overall, a solid performance and we will take the win.
How important the first win is: “Psychologically it’s a big thing. Just getting that under your belt, know it’s possible. Know the work you are putting in and seeing the fruits of your labour. The hope and the expectation: okay we got it under us, let’s move forward in the right direction.”

What the coach has to say:
Head coach Bev Yanez after 3-3 draw against Portland Thorns: “I thought it was a very good performance from our side. We talked a lot about the performance and the process before the game. I thought we had a very good week leading into this match. It’s very difficult to play away at Portland. I am very proud of the group tonight. I thought there was belief throughout the entirety of the match and they worked their socks off.”
On the decisions made in the match: “Obviously there is a lot of emotions after matches just in general. We’ll keep that between us as a group and what we discuss and how we continue to move forward. But it’s very difficult, to have a PK that late in the match. There were several instances leading up to that, that we’d like to look into.
“At some point there were two balls on the pitch before the throw in occurred, for the ball that gets sent into the box. I think that the emotion is very high because we want to win. We worked hard and felt like we had a good majority of this match performance wise. We will continue to look into things. I don’t know how much detail at this point.”
