Saoirse Noonan is attracting growing transfer interest ahead of the summer window. Clubs from the Women’s Super League, WSL 2, the NWSL, Serie A and the Belgian Women’s Super League are all monitoring the Celtic forward’s situation, according to Soccerdonna.

The Republic of Ireland international joined Celtic FC Women from Durham ahead of the 2024/25 season after a strong spell in England and previous success with Shelbourne in Ireland. Her contract with Celtic expires in the summer of 2027.

Noonan established herself as one of the more versatile attacking players in the Scottish Women’s Premier League this season. The Irish forward is capable of playing across the frontline, as a second striker or in an attacking midfield role, offering tactical flexibility and valuable international experience.

Before joining Celtic, Noonan impressed during her time at Shelbourne, where she scored six goals in eleven matches before making the move to Durham. Her performances across Ireland, England and Scotland have continued to raise her profile in the women’s game.

Why Clubs Are Interested in Saoirse Noonan

Noonan’s combination of intelligent movement, positional versatility and work rate has made her an attractive option for clubs looking to strengthen their attacking depth this summer.

The 25-year-old is comfortable operating:

  • as a central striker,
  • in a deeper creative role,
  • or drifting into wide attacking areas.

Her experience at international level with the Republic of Ireland also adds further value for clubs competing domestically and in European competition.

What’s Next for Celtic Women?

While transfer speculation surrounding Noonan continues to grow, Celtic are still focused on finishing the season strongly. Celtic FC Women currently sit fifth in the Scottish Women’s Premier League standings with one league fixture remaining against Partick Thistle Women.

The club has struggled to match the heights of the 2023/24 campaign, when Celtic won the league title after recording 26 wins, four draws and only two defeats.

However, Celtic still have the opportunity to end the season with silverware. Grant Scott’s side will face Rangers Women in the Women’s Scottish Cup Final on May 31 at Hampden Park.

Rangers enter the match after a strong league campaign and remain in contention near the top of the Scottish Women’s Premier League table heading into the final round of fixtures.

Transfer Window Could Be Important for Celtic

Celtic are expected to face an important summer rebuild as clubs across Europe and the United States continue monitoring several players within the squad.

Noonan is among the players attracting the most attention due to her adaptability, international experience and proven performances across multiple leagues.

For clubs searching for a versatile attacking player capable of fitting into different tactical systems, the Republic of Ireland forward is becoming an increasingly attractive option ahead of the summer transfer window.
