Matchday 3 and 4 in the Women’s Nations League are around the corner. Sundhage and her team face off against France and Iceland this international window. A perfect way for the EURO 2025 teams to prepare for this summer. Switzerland is hosting the tournament and will want to prove to everyone that they can compete on the highest level. Find out who made the Switzerland National Team for the Women’s Nations League here.

Who is the Switzerland head coach?

Head coach Pia Sundhage has only been with the Switzerland WNT since January 2024. She was appointed to lead the team to the EURO 2025. Where they can hopefully shine on the big stage. When asked about the tournament this summer, Sundhage said: “We are determined that we’re going to advance from the group – and then you never know what will happen.”

The head coach won Olympic Gold with the USWNT twice, went to the final in the World Cup 2011, the semi-finals at the World Cup 2023 and a silver Olympic Medal with Sweden.

Switzerland National Team

Sundhage called up three new players this window: “Our goal is to build a dynamic team that takes nothing for granted. We’re bringing in new players again this time, because we want to try out some things around the core we already have”.

Nearly five months ago, Switzerland secured a win against France in Geneva and will be looking to build on that: “This victory gives us a lot of confidence and shows that it is possible. The fact that we play against them at home will hopefully help us again.”
