The Women’s Nations League continues on the 4th of April with the next two matchdays. Wales will face Denmark and Sweden. The team lost against Italy, but earned a point against Sweden in a 1-1 draw. It’s important for Cymru to do better this window, if they want a shot at the top of the group. Find out who made the Wales National Team for the Women’s Nations League here.

Wales National Team

Rhian Wilkinson selected the following 26-player squad for the Wales National Team:

  • Goalkeepers: Olivia Clark, Laura O’Sullivan, Safia Middleton-Patel.
  • Defenders: Poppy Soper, Rhiannon Roberts, Hayley Ladd, Gemma Evans, Mayzee Davies, Lily Woodham, Esther Morgan, Jess Fishlock, Ella Powell, Lois Joel.
  • Midfielders: Josie Green, Charlie Estcourt, Angharad James, Alice Griffiths, Ceri Holland, Carrie Jones.
  • Forwards: Hannah Cain, Kayleigh Barton*, Elise Hughes, Ffion Morgan, Mary McAteer, Rachel Rowe, Tianna Teisar.

*Josie Longhurst replaced Kayleigh Barton due to injury.

Rhian Wilkinson on needing the fans: “This is going to be an exciting game against Denmark at home. It’s in Cardiff. It’s our last game in Cardiff. We are not going to have a send off game to the Euros. This is one of the last opportunities to see this team before the Euros. Can you help me, in letting them feel supported.

“Because I know that there is so much support, and sometimes you just don’t always see that in the numbers coming out to the games. But this is an important game for us, a huge game for us in League A.

“But equally, if you look at a tournament, this is the third game and you get three games in that pool play and that’s what we’re looking a little bit like with this. We’ve got a win, we’ve got a loss. Now, what do we have to do. I would ask people to come out to support their team and let this wonderful group of women feel as loved as they are.”
