The She Believes Cup 2025 kicks-off on the 20th of February with the match between Japan and Australia. The four participants are Colombia, USA, Japan and Australia. The competition is back to its original three matchday format. Interim head coach Tom Sermanni put together a 23-player squad for the upcoming tournament. - Forwards: Caitlyn Foord, Mary Fowler, Laini Freier, Michelle Heyman, Holly McNamara, Hayley Raso, Kaitlyn Torpey.
*Clare Wheeler withdrew from the squad with a thigh injury. Alana Murphy takes her place.
The interim head coach is looking forward to the tournament and the different challenges The Matilda’s will have to face: “The Japanese are coming into this tournament with a new coach and a European coach, so it will be interesting to see if that changes any of the dynamics around their team. Very different game to the US, which will be much more physical, a physical type of game, faster and so on. And then a Colombia, which will be a mix of that South American football, along with some tasty physical challenges,” Sermanni said.
