Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Alice Sombath from OL Lyonnes, bringing one of France’s most promising young defenders to north London.
The 22-year-old arrives after six seasons with Lyon, where she made 106 appearances, collected an impressive list of domestic honours and won the UEFA Women’s Champions League in 2022.
For Tottenham, this transfer is about identifying a player who has already developed within one of Europe’s most demanding environments and giving her the opportunity to establish herself as a regular starter during what should be some of the most important years of her career.
