Bristol City announced the signing of Vicky Losada on a three-year deal after her contract with Brighton & Hove Albion expired this summer. Losada captained her former team and made 47 appearances.

Beyond her role as captain, Losada also served as an ambassador for the Brighton & Hove Albion Foundation. Her community work earned her the club’s PFA Community Champion award for the 2024/25 season.

Losada would bring a wealth of experience to Bristol City, having previously played for Manchester City, AS Roma and Arsenal, and winning the UEFA Women’s Champions League with Barcelona in 2021. She also earned 65 caps for the Spain national team.

Words from the Manager and Losada

Head Coach Charlotte Healy said: “To get a player of Vicky’s calibre shows what we are aiming for, and I am delighted she is here.

“We knew WSL and WSL2 clubs wanted to sign Vicky, so we are really happy that she chose Bristol City. All her experience and talent will help elevate us as a group and we’ve seen that already this week in training.”

On signing for City, the 34-year-old said: “It’s a good moment for Bristol City and I want to be a part of it and make this club grow.

“I know what it takes to be part of a winning team, and we want to enjoy the journey too.”

Bristol City have also announced the signing of Sophie Ingle on a two-year deal, with the option to extend for a further year. Ingle, 33, has just recovered from an ACL injury and has won the Women’s Super League five times. She previously spent seven years at Chelsea, where she won a total of eleven trophies, made 214 appearances, and scored 12 goals.

This is not Ingle’s first time at Bristol City. Over a decade ago, she captained Bristol Academy, making 27 appearances and winning Player of the Year.

On the international stage, Ingle recently earned her 142nd cap for Wales at UEFA Women’s EURO 2025. It marked Wales’ first-ever qualification for a major tournament. Unfortunately, they were drawn in Group D alongside the Netherlands, England, and France, and did not progress to the knockout stages.
