Paris Saint-Germain have announced the signing of Olga Carmona on a contract running until 2028, joining from Real Madrid. Back in April, journalist Andrea Peláez reported that the French club was interested in bringing in the Spanish international as a free agent. While Real Madrid did offer Carmona a new deal, she was ready to embark on a new adventure abroad.

Statement Olga Carmona: “I’m very happy to join Paris Saint-Germain, a club with big ambitions and an incredible city. I can’t wait to get started, meet my teammates, and give my all to help the team win as many trophies as possible in this shirt!”

Career Overview Olga Carmona

Carmona began her professional career at Sevilla FC in 2017, where she played until 2020. That same year, Real Madrid officially launched their women’s football team, with Carmona joining their inaugural squad. In their debut season, the club finished second in the league—a position they consistently maintained, apart from the 2021/22 campaign. FC Barcelona claimed the league title each season during that time.

Across her time at Real Madrid, Carmona made 186 appearances, scored 28 goals, and registered 25 assists. She also served as team captain in her final season. Her leadership and performances both on and off the pitch earned her widespread recognition:

  • Named one of the best young players in the Spanish league in 2021
  • Finalist for UEFA Women’s Player of the Year in 2023
  • Selected for the FIFPRO World XI in the same year

On the international stage

Olga Carmona made history at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, scoring the winning goal in the final against England to secure Spain’s first-ever world title. She has earned over 40 caps for the Spanish national team and is part of the 23-player squad heading to the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 in Switzerland this summer.
