Þorsteinn Halldórsson has named his 23-player Iceland National Team for the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 in Switzerland. Iceland will kick off the tournament with the opening match against Finland at 18:00 on Wednesday, July 2. Head coach Thorsteinn Halldórsson has selected the following players for the Women’s EURO 2025:

What the head coach had to say
“We’re expecting a tough match against Finland. They have many players competing in the Nordic leagues—very good players. The development of Finnish women’s football has been impressive.
“They’ve been doing a lot of work at the youth level to develop talent, and I believe that will result in an even stronger team in the coming years. But we’re fully aware that we need to go into the game against Finland with the goal of winning. It’s an important match.
“The first game is always crucial in a tournament like this. We definitely need to perform well against Finland, and hopefully, the performance will be strong enough for us to come out with a win,” said national team coach Þorsteinn Halldórsson in an interview with mbl.is.
