Tottenham Hotspur Women are preparing for a busy summer transfer window after confirming several high-profile departures alongside a key contract extension.
Spurs announced last month that Amy James-Turner, Luana Bühler, Charlotte Grant and Josefine Rybrink will all leave the club following the expiration of their contracts this summer. Separate club statements also confirmed that captain Bethany England and long-serving midfielder Kit Graham will depart North London at the end of their respective deals.
With significant experience leaving the squad, Tottenham are expected to strengthen their team ahead of next season, while also rewarding important players already at the club. One of those players is Olga Ahtinen, who has signed a new long-term contract with Spurs.
Spurs Showing Progress Under Martin Ho
Tottenham Hotspur Women are set to finish the 2025/26 Women’s Super League season in fifth place during Martin Ho’s first campaign in charge.
The strong finish represents a major improvement compared to the club’s disappointing 11th-place finish during the 2024/25 season. Speaking recently, Ho praised the progress the squad has made both collectively and individually during the season.
However, with Spurs aiming to challenge even higher in the Women’s Super League next year, the club are expected to target new signings during the summer window.
Olga Ahtinen Signs New Tottenham Contract
Finland international Olga Ahtinen has committed her future to Tottenham Hotspur by signing a new long-term contract with the club. Ahtinen joined Spurs ahead of the 2023/24 season and has since made 55 appearances, scoring three goals from midfield.
Before arriving in England, the midfielder gained valuable UEFA Women’s Champions League experience during her time with Brøndby IF in Denmark. She later moved to Sweden to play for Linköpings FC before securing her transfer to Tottenham.
The 28-year-old made an impressive start to life in North London before suffering an MCL injury in November 2023, which kept her sidelined for three months. She returned strongly and provided the assist for Ayane’s winning goal against Sheffield United in the Women’s FA Cup fourth round.
On the international stage, Ahtinen remains a key player for Finland. She has represented her country at both UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 and EURO 2025 tournaments, earning 80 caps and scoring four goals.
Bethany England and Kit Graham Leave Spurs
Two of Tottenham’s most recognisable players will leave the club this summer. Bethany England departs after joining Spurs midway through the 2022/23 season. The striker made an immediate impact, scoring 13 goals in just 14 games to help secure the club’s Women’s Super League survival.
England later became club captain and continued to establish herself as one of the division’s most reliable forwards. During her time at Spurs, she achieved several milestones, including surpassing 200 professional appearances and becoming the first player to score more than 25 goals for two different Women’s Super League clubs.
Kit Graham will also leave Tottenham after playing an important role in the club’s recent growth.
The attacking midfielder joined Spurs from Charlton Athletic in 2019 and was part of the first Tottenham Hotspur Women side to compete in the top flight. Graham became a regular starter and helped Spurs secure historic moments, including their first-ever Women’s Super League victory over Arsenal and their run to the Women’s FA Cup final.
Four More Senior Players Depart
Tottenham have also confirmed the departures of Amy James-Turner, Luana Bühler, Charlotte Grant and Josefine Rybrink.
James-Turner joined the club from Orlando Pride in 2022 and made 53 appearances, including starting in Spurs’ historic Women’s FA Cup final at Wembley in 2024.
Switzerland international Luana Bühler played an important role during her first two seasons with the club before injuries disrupted her most recent campaign. The defender made 30 appearances during her time in North London.
Australian full-back Charlotte Grant arrived in January 2024 and featured 35 times for Spurs, while Swedish defender Josefine Rybrink made 19 appearances after joining the club in 2024, showcasing her versatility across both defence and midfield.
Tottenham Women’s Managing Director Andy Rogers thanked all departing players for their contributions and praised their professionalism during their time at the club. The club also confirmed several departures from the Under-19 squad as part of the summer changes.
