Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Sweden international Monica Jusu Bah from BK Häcken, subject to registration.
The 23-year-old attacker has signed a contract until June 2030 after helping Häcken win both the Damallsvenskan title and UEFA Women’s Europa Cup last season.
Jusu Bah contributed 16 goals and seven assists during the double-winning campaign, giving United another direct attacking option for new head coach Eva Olid.

Jusu Bah arrives after double-winning season
Jusu Bah moves to England following the most successful campaign of her senior career. Häcken won their first Damallsvenskan title in 2025 before adding the inaugural Women’s Europa Cup during the 2025/26 season. Jusu Bah provided 23 direct goal contributions across the campaign as the Swedish club collected both trophies.
She remained involved in the ongoing 2026 Damallsvenskan season before completing her transfer, meaning she joins United with recent competitive minutes. Director of women’s football Matt Johnson believes her fitness should allow her to contribute quickly.
“Arriving having already played a number of games in the Swedish league this season means she is fully fit and ready to contribute on the pitch,” Johnson said. Häcken’s club records list Jusu Bah with 32 goals and 15 assists across 107 appearances.
Attacking option for Eva Olid
Monica Jusu Bah primarily operates from the left but can play across the forward line. United highlighted her pace, direct running and final product when announcing the signing. Johnson described those attributes as the qualities required from an attacker at the club.
The move also gives Jusu Bah the opportunity to continue her development under Olid, who took charge of United ahead of the 2026/27 season.
“The opportunity to work with Eva Olid is perfect,” Jusu Bah said. “Everybody knows the quality of her coaching and her ability to support players to reach their highest level.”
She becomes part of a growing Swedish group at United alongside Fridolina Rolfö, Julia Zigiotti Olme, Hanna Lundkvist and Ellen Wangerheim.
From Umeå to Manchester United
Born in Sweden on 16 May 2003, Jusu Bah developed with Mariehem and Umeå before progressing into senior football. She broke into Umeå’s first team in 2020 but subsequently suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury that kept her out during 2022.
After returning to action, the winger scored eight goals in 12 Elitettan appearances during the first part of the 2023 season. That form earned her a transfer to Häcken in July of that year.
Jusu Bah went on to play in the Women’s Champions League and helped Häcken reach the quarter-finals during the 2023/24 campaign.
She extended her contract with the Swedish club until the end of 2028 in September 2025, before United secured her signature three years ahead of its scheduled expiry.
Senior international progress with Sweden
Monica Jusu Bah represented Sweden throughout the youth age groups before making her senior debut against Bosnia and Herzegovina in February 2024.
The attacker scored her first senior international goal against Denmark in April 2026. She joins United with 11 appearances for the national team.
Her move to Manchester represents her first experience outside Swedish club football.
