Chelsea have confirmed that two of the club’s young talents, midfielder Lola Brown and goalkeeper Katie Cox, will spend the 2025/26 season gaining valuable first-team experience away from Kingsmeadow. Both academy graduates, who have already made strides in the senior setup and on the international stage, are set to continue their development with loan spells in competitive leagues.
Lola Brown to Crystal Palace
Seventeen-year-old midfielder Lola Brown will spend next season on loan at Crystal Palace in the Women’s Super League 2. She joined the Blues in 2019, playing for the U12s, and was named Chelsea Women’s Academy U18 Player of the Year for the 2023/24 campaign. In November 2024, she signed her first professional contract.
Brown spent the 2024/25 season with the first team, gaining valuable experience and making her senior debut in the Women’s Champions League against Celtic.
On the international stage, she has progressed through the youth ranks and most recently featured at the Women’s U19 Euros this June.
Katie Cox to Aberdeen
Nineteen-year-old goalkeeper Katie Cox will spend next season on loan at Aberdeen in the Scottish Women’s Premier League 1. She joined the Chelsea Academy at just eight years old and, in 2024, became the first goalkeeper to win the Women’s Academy Player of the Year Award. That same year, she signed her first professional contract.
Cox was part of the senior squad in 2024/25, named on the bench for Champions League matches against Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Barcelona, and also featuring among the substitutes in the WSL season finale against both Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
Internationally, she has represented England through the youth levels and started every match at the Women’s U19 Euros this summer in Lithuania.
