RCD Espanyol Femení have begun shaping their squad for the 2026/27 Liga F season, confirming the departures of nine players while securing the futures of two key members of the team.

The Catalan club announced that Aina Durán, Ainoa Campo, Amaia Martínez, Ángeles del Álamo, Daniela Caracas, Estefanía Botero, Laia Ballesté, Olivia Fergusson and Paula Perea will all leave when their contracts expire on June 30.

At the same time, Espanyol have moved to retain important pieces of their squad by extending the contracts of defender Lucía Vallejo and goalkeeper Romane Salvador.

Nine Players Set to Leave Espanyol This Summer

The most notable departure is Colombia international Daniela Caracas, who will bring an end to a five-year spell with the club.

Caracas established herself as one of Espanyol’s most influential players during her time in Barcelona and played a key role in helping the club secure promotion back to Liga F.

Academy graduate Aina Durán will also leave after six seasons with the club. Having progressed through Espanyol’s youth system, Durán became a symbol of commitment and loyalty during her time with the first team.

Ángeles del Álamo and Estefanía Botero depart after three seasons, both having contributed to the successful promotion campaign that returned Espanyol to the top flight of Spanish women’s football.

Captain Ainoa Campo leaves after two seasons, while Amaia Martínez, Laia Ballesté and Paula Perea also conclude their Espanyol careers after helping the club establish itself in Liga F following promotion.

Meanwhile, Olivia Fergusson will depart after spending one season with the club. The departures represent a significant overhaul of the squad as Espanyol prepare for another season in Spain’s top division.

Lucía Vallejo Extends Contract Until 2028

While several players are leaving, Espanyol have secured one of their most important performers for the long term. Left-back Lucía Vallejo has signed a contract extension that will keep her at the club until 2028.

Vallejo was one of Espanyol’s standout players during the 2025/26 campaign and finished the season as the team’s second-most used player in terms of minutes played.

Her consistency, defensive reliability and importance to the squad made her renewal a priority for the club as they continue building for the future.

Romane Salvador Commits Future to Espanyol

Espanyol have also confirmed that goalkeeper Romane Salvador will remain at the club until 2027.

The French goalkeeper has established herself as one of the team’s most dependable performers since arriving in Spain, earning a reputation for her consistency and ability to produce decisive saves in key moments.

Salvador’s performances have made her one of the most respected goalkeepers in Liga F, and her renewal provides valuable continuity during a summer of significant change.

What These Moves Mean for Espanyol Women

Espanyol’s transfer activity so far suggests the club is entering a new phase following its successful return to Liga F.

While the departures of experienced figures such as Daniela Caracas, Aina Durán and Ainoa Campo create gaps in leadership and experience, the renewals of Lucía Vallejo and Romane Salvador provide important stability.

The coming weeks could now be crucial as Espanyol look to strengthen the squad and ensure they continue progressing in Liga F. With nine departures already confirmed, expect Espanyol Women to be active in the transfer market as preparations for the 2026/27 season continue.
