The Paris 2024 Olympics women’s football for Japan started against World Champion Spain. Japan lost 2-1 after scoring the opening goal. After that, the Olympic Japan Squad 2024 really turned it around. they won their matches against Nigeria and Brazil. This earned them second place in their group and now they had to face the USA in the quarter-finals. Japan held the USWNT off for more than 90 minutes. Schedule before the tournament
The Japanese Football Federation made the schedule for the women’s team known when making the squad announcement. There was a training match against Viamaterras Myazaki and a support match for the Noto Peninsula Earthquake reconstruction.
On the 13th of July Japan played a friendly against Ghana and won with 4-0. Goals were scored by Tanaka, Hamano, Fujino and Ueki. On Friday the 19th of July the Olympic Japan Squad 2024 will play their last training match behind closed doors against Colombia.
