Nigeria failed to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Paris 2024 Olympics. Their Olympic women’s football tournament started with a match against Brazil. Nigeria fought well but Brazil took the 0-1 win. Nigeria’s next opponent was Spain. The squad held the Spanish off for a long time, but eventually Alexia Putellas scored the 1-0 from a free kick. The following players are selected by Randy Waldrum, the head coach of Nigeria women’s football team. The nation qualified during the CAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament. There are no surprises in the Olympic Nigeria Squad:
Goalkeepers: Chiamaka Nnadozie, Tochukwu Oluehi.
Defenders: Osinachi Ohale, Oluwatosin Demehin, Michelle Alozie, Nicole Payne, Chidinma Okeke.
Midfielders: Deborah Abiodun, Ifeoma Onumonu, Christy Ucheibe, Jennifer Echegini, Toni Payne.
Forwards: Rasheedat Ajibade, Esther Okoronkwo, Asisat Oshoala, Uchenna Kanu, Chiwendu Ihezuo, Chinonyerem Macleans.
The 18-player squad has all the qualities it needs. Experienced players from all competitions are selected. The first reactions of the fans are positive. Schedule before the tournament
The FIFA international window was between the 8th and 16th of July. We are not sure if the Super Falcons had any friendlies lined up before the big tournament. Their social media shows them training hard every day, but nothing on a scheduled match. They are 9x African Champions and ranked as the 36th National Team in the World. An opponent you should not underestimate.

The Olympic Nigeria Squad is in Group C with Brazil, Spain, and Japan. They will play matches on the following dates:
