Paris Saint-Germain are exploring a late move for Chelsea striker Mayra Ramírez as the French club consider adding another attacker before the transfer window closes.

According to French newspaper Le Parisien, PSG have recently made contact with Chelsea regarding the 27-year-old Colombia international. However, no agreement has been reached and several obstacles remain before a transfer could take place.

The French transfer window closes on Friday, 18 September, leaving PSG little time to complete a potential deal.

PSG make contact with Chelsea over Ramírez

PSG have already strengthened their squad this summer with the arrivals of Serbian defender Andjela Krstić and French forward Naomie Feller, but another attacking addition could still be made before the deadline.

Le Parisien reports that PSG have contacted Chelsea to explore whether a deal for Ramírez could be possible. At this stage, however, this should be considered transfer interest rather than an advanced deal.

Chelsea’s position still needs to be established, while PSG would also need to convince Ramírez to make the move to Paris. The Colombian remains under contract with Chelsea until 2028.

Ramírez coming back from injury problems

A potential transfer comes after a difficult 2025/26 season for Ramírez. The striker missed significant playing time through injury, preventing her from building consistent minutes and form during the campaign. She eventually returned to competitive action towards the end of last season.

That makes her situation at Chelsea particularly interesting as the transfer deadline approaches. Ramírez originally joined the Blues from Levante in January 2024. At the time, the deal made her the most expensive women’s footballer in history, although the world transfer record has since been broken several times.

She has provided Chelsea with a different profile at centre-forward when available, combining physical strength with the ability to carry the ball and attack space behind a defence.

Could Mayra Ramírez leave Chelsea?

For now, there is no confirmation that Chelsea have agreed to sell Ramírez. According to the French report, PSG’s interest is genuine enough for contact to have taken place, but there are still several steps required for a transfer.

Chelsea would need to agree terms for the departure of a player who still has two years remaining on her contract, while Ramírez herself would also need to approve a move to France.

The short amount of time remaining in the French transfer window adds another complication. PSG therefore face a race against the deadline if their interest develops into formal negotiations.

With the window closing on Friday, Ramírez’s future could be one of the final major women’s transfer stories to watch.

What we know so far

PSG are interested in signing Mayra Ramírez from Chelsea and have reportedly contacted the English champions about her availability. There is currently no reported agreement between PSG and Chelsea, and no indication that Ramírez has agreed personal terms.

The Colombian remains a Chelsea player and is contracted until 2028. Any potential move would have to progress quickly with the French transfer deadline approaching.
