Levante UD has announced the departure of midfielder Anna Torrodà. She began her career in the youth systems of Espanyol and FC Barcelona before joining Levante in July 2023 from Valencia CF. Torrodà made 14 appearances in her debut season and 28 in her second.

Club statement: “Levante UD thanks Anna for her effort, professionalism, and dedication during her time with the team, and wishes her all the best in her future personal and professional endeavors.”

Ainhoa Bascuñán signs contract extension

Meanwhile, midfielder Ainhoa Bascuñán has signed a contract extension with Levante UD until June 2027. A product of the club’s youth academy, she made her Liga F debut in September 2022. This past season marked her first full campaign with the senior squad, during which she made 22 appearances.

Club statement: “Levante UD thanks Ainhoa for her trust in the club’s sporting project and wishes her continued success and growth as a granota.”

The search for a new head coach

Head coach Ángel Saiz has also left the club following the expiration of his contract. Saiz joined Levante UD in February 2025 at a critical point in the season with the team in a relegation battle. He successfully led the squad to safety, fulfilling the club’s objective of remaining in Liga F.

Liga F 2025/26 season

Spanish football is gearing up for the 2025/26 Liga F season, which will kick off on the weekend of August 30–31 and conclude with the final matchday on May 30–31. The calendar, approved by all 16 participating clubs, will feature 30 matchdays and follow an asymmetric free format, meaning no two rounds will be identical. This structure aims to improve venue availability, ensure the smooth running of the competition, and enhance both broadcast impact and matchday attendance.

A key change for the upcoming season is the potential inclusion of just one midweek round—Matchday 29—which will only be scheduled midweek if a Spanish team reaches the UEFA Women’s Champions League final. The calendar also includes specific windows to reschedule matches that may be postponed due to national or international competition clashes.
