Como 1907 Women have signed Tessa Wullaert as a free agent, making Inter’s leading scorer and assist provider the centre-forward for their historic first season in Serie A.
The 33-year-old produced 14 goals and nine assists across 22 appearances during the 2025-26 campaign. She played 1,800 minutes, averaging one direct goal contribution approximately every 78 minutes.
Those numbers make Wullaert much more than an experienced name for a newly assembled squad. Como 1907 have secured a forward capable of deciding matches immediately, and taken her from the Inter side that finished second in Serie A last season.

Inter’s Attack Ran Through Wullaert
Wullaert arrived at Inter ahead of the 2024-25 season and leaves after scoring 24 goals in 45 appearances. Her second campaign demonstrated that she offers more than finishing. Wullaert led Inter for both goals and assists, ending 2025-26 with 23 direct goal contributions.
That balance is important for Como 1907. Tessa Wullaert can lead the line and finish attacks, but her nine assists show that she can also bring other forwards into games. For a newly constructed side still establishing its attacking relationships, having a centre-forward who can create as well as score removes some of the dependence on one source of service.
Inter finished second last season, 11 points behind AS Roma. Wullaert is therefore leaving one of the division’s strongest teams to become the leading striker for a club entering Serie A for the first time.
No explanation has been given for her departure, but Como have gained a player whose output already belongs near the top of the Italian game.
Why Wullaert Changes Como’s Attack
Como’s recruitment has combined players familiar with major European leagues and younger footballers who can develop as the club grows.
Emilie Haavi, Agnese Bonfantini and Carmen Menayo bring further experience, while Riola Xhemaili represents a younger part of the project. Wullaert sits at the centre of that mixture because she is expected to begin the season as Como’s primary striker.
That gives Selena Mazzantini a clear reference point around whom the new attack can be organised.
Wullaert’s record suggests she does not need a long introduction to Serie A. She already understands the competition and has shown that she can produce against its defences. The greater task will be transferring those numbers from an established Inter side to a Como team whose partnerships are only beginning to form.
Heather O’Reilly, Como’s head of women’s football, described Wullaert as a “major signing” and emphasised that the forward is currently at the top of her game. That final point matters. Como have not signed Wullaert solely because of what she achieved at Wolfsburg, Manchester City, Anderlecht or Fortuna Sittard. Her most relevant evidence came last season.
A Record That Extends Beyond Club Football
Tessa Wullaert arrives with 105 goals in more than 154 appearances for Belgium. She is the country’s record goalscorer across both its men’s and women’s national teams. In March 2026, she became only the seventh footballer to reach 100 international goals.
That record adds weight to Como’s decision, but it also fits the role she is expected to take. Wullaert has spent much of her career carrying responsibility for goals, and she will now be asked to do so again in a newly promoted team.
Her own message was equally direct. “I hope to bring goals and assists to this team,” Wullaert said. “I’m here to win games.”
For Como, that mindset may be as important as her reputation. A squad entering a new division needs players who treat the occasion as a competitive challenge, not simply a historic experience.
Como Have Raised Their Own Expectations
A first Serie A season naturally brings uncertainty. Como must discover how quickly a collection of new signings can become a functioning team and how their performances will translate against established top-flight opponents.
Wullaert reduces one of the largest uncertainties. They now have a central striker who scored or created 23 goals for the league’s second-placed side last season.
Her arrival does not guarantee that the rest of Como’s new team will settle immediately. It does mean the club cannot be viewed as a typical newcomer hoping to find enough goals somewhere within the squad.
Como have already identified their main source. Their first Serie A season may now depend on whether they can build an attack capable of giving Wullaert the platform she had at Inter.
